The first thing I’m going to do is sketch a rectangle. I have a plane in the middle of this bottle that I’m going to start my sketch.

When you have finished with the extrude you’ll notice that we now have 2 solid bodies in our feature tree.

Now we can Combine these bodies into one. Holding down your Ctrl key, select both bodies in your feature tree and RMB (right mouse button) and select Combine

After you select the Ok check, you’ll get a dialog box asking which bodies you want to keep. In this example, I’m only interested in how much water this bottle will hold. So I’m going to select Body 2 (Which is highlighted in the dark greenish color)

After you hit Ok, you are left with just the interior of the bottle.
Have you ever wanted to start a user group but didn’t know how to go about it or wanted some advice? Well, come to the SWUGN booth during the welcome reception at SolidWorks World on Sunday night and you’ll get a chance to meet over 40 user group leaders from around the world.
I can’t wait…!!
